The Bilerco Project posted an article about creating change on the local level.

While state and federal protections cover larger segments of the population, changes at the local level cannot be overlooked, especially when they can build towards change at higher levels of government.

Included in the list:
  • Adding non-discrimination clauses to city contracts.
  • Review ordinances to the word "family" to include LGBT families.
  • City recognition and participation of pride events.

So what changes do you want to create in Lincoln?

I think this requires us to examine our relationships with City Council members. Do we have any? What do we need to do to form those relationships?

It's time to put on the oven mitts. Time for CFEP to make some cupcakes and wander over to the County-City building...
