Give Lincoln's LGBT Community a Symbol!

OUTLinc is a community action organization focused on the advancement of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community in Lincoln and surrounding areas. The community must be involved in all that we do. That's why we want you to submit a logo design that will reflect our mission: To engage in and foster the well-being and advancement of the LGBT community through excellence in service, recreation, education, and celebration.

WHAT YOU'LL GET
Your design talents will be known and promoted throughout the community and at OUTLinc functions.

HOW IT WORKS

• All entries must be submitted by Dec. 1, 2009 for consideration.
• Entries will be judged by selection committee during Dec. 1-5. In addition to ability to communicate organization's mission to the target audience, the logos will be judged on creativity and uniqueness.
• No more than five finalist will be selected and given an opportunity to revise their entries based on feedback from selection committee.
• The selection committee will select a winner from the revised entries. If selection committee is unable to make a final selection, a community vote may be held.
• Winner will be announced by Dec. 31, 2009!

THE LOOK AND FEEL

• Design must include 1) a graphic symbol and 2) a text representation of the name "OUTLinc". These should be composed in a manner that the symbol and name can be used together or individually.
• Design should be modern without being trendy (don't want it to be "dated" in 5-10 years).
• Design should make people feel inspired and proud of a unified and progressive LGBT community.
• Provide a 4-color, 2-color, and grayscale option.

WHO ITS FOR
Members of and allies to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community in Lincoln and surrounding areas.

HOW IT WILL BE USED
A variety of print and electronic media, ranging in size from business cards to banners and eventually facility signage.

GETTING IT TO US

• All submissions must be emailed to logo@outlinc.org by Dec.1, 2009 for consideration.
• If package is over 10 MB, please use http://www.yousendit.com or another file sharing service.

TECHNICAL JARGON

• Only vector artwork (placeable EPS, Adobe Illustator, or Adobe PDF) files.
• All fonts embedded or converted to outlines.
• Please export PDF from native program (e.g. Illustrator, InDesign, Quark) as High or Press Quality at 100% of submitted size.
• Do not include any print marks in digital file (e.g. crop marks, color bars).

LEGALESE

• All entries become the sole property of OUTLinc and may be reproduced on the internet and other media.
• OUTLinc reserves the right to modify, edit, or combine elements from multiple submissions.
• OUTLinc reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend or cancel Contest in whole or in part at any time for any reason.
