Over and over again, we hear that “It takes a village.” A year ago a village, although a little queer, dreamed of a better Lincoln and created OUTLinc. Today that same village is making OUTLinc an amazing community center.

The community center is not really the amazing part. The amazing part is YOU – the village! YOU did this!

Some of you are contributing ideas. Some of you are making those ideas better. Some of you are giving financial support. And some of you are turning those ideas into reality. It will take every one of us to keep this going, and that includes you.

Every one counts. Every voice, every minute, every dollar. Every one counts!

You don’t have to give big to create change. You just have to give.

Give one idea. Give one minute. Give one dollar.

Five priorities were set at the OUTLinc monthly meeting in February by over 20 people. Now teams of community members are hard at work on these priorities. If you can help contact us - remember, everyone counts!

• Programming for Youth (I know a few high school students would love a Pride Prom.)

• Mental Health Services

• Community-wide Newsletter

• Directory of LGBT friendly business/organizations

• Physical space to house your Community Center

Another opportunity for you to contribute, making OUTLinc Community Center a rockin’ great place, is March 13th, 10 a.m. at Walt Library on 14th Street in Southwest Lincoln.

We will spend a majority of time discussing the possibility of organizing a Film Festival.

Give us your ideas yearning to be free!
