On March 29, 2009, your community experienced something very special. This was the date of the Lincoln Renaissance meeting, where a group of over 55 people like you came together to share their dreams for the Lincoln LGBT community. We talked about all kinds of dreams, large and small - some that you may share. We talked about community newsletters, gay business directories, film festivals, and same-sex parenting groups. We talked about social events, sports leagues, and gay neighborhoods. We also talked about the need for a community center, and the seed that would become OUTLinc was planted.

It was the community that gave birth to OUTLinc, starting with those inspiring conversations. And with your support, what started as a dream ten short months ago has taken the first steps to become a non-profit organization that will make a difference for LGBT people! Since outlinc.org was established as a place for Lincoln's LGBT community to come together on-line, it has been visited over 2,500 times by people in over 30 countries and nearly 100 members have created profiles!

The foundation of OUTLinc has been laid and you can move us to the next step. Won't you tell us what your priorities are and how you want to spend your own energy to make a difference?

Join the conversation! What are your ideas for where OUTLinc should focus its energy? Do you have a great idea for a program or an event? Is there a resource that Lincoln's LGBT community really needs that OUTLinc could provide? Bring your ideas to the table and join the conversation Sat. Feb. 13 at 10am at the Gere Branch Library. Regardless of whether or not you are able to attend, share your ideas in the comments on this post!

Get on the list!
Join the OUTLinc email list if you're not already on it, and stay up-to-date with what's happening with your community center.

Stay connected! Keep the conversations going online and join the OUTLinc Community Center group on outlinc.org.

Watching OUTLinc grow from dream into reality has been a great experience. Thank you for being a part of the journey and for your commitment to a better Lincoln for LGBT people!

I hope you'll join us for the next exciting stage and share your thoughts below and join us on Sat., Feb 13!
